As the Japanese publication Nikkei has learned, Mitsubishi intends to close the Pajero Manufacturing plant, from whose assembly line, in addition to the Pajero, the Outlander and Delica models also come off. The production line is planned to be stopped within the next three years, but production of the popular SUV will already be completed by that time.
The Mitsubishi Pajero will obviously be replaced by another crossover, which is expected to debut at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.

The design of the Pajero's successor will be done in the style of the GC-PHEV concept, presented in 2016 at the Paris Motor Show. The new model will be powered by a hybrid powertrain.
