The Japanese manufacturer has decided to discontinue the RLX sedan due to its weak demand, as well as its desire to focus efforts on the production of the RDX and MDX crossovers and the TLX sedan. On the domestic Japanese market, this flagship will continue to be sold under the Honda Legend brand.

Sales of the Acura RLX in the US began to decline back in 2013, when more than five thousand of these sedans were sold. By 2016, the figure had dropped to 1,500 units, and last year it was just over a thousand. For comparison, in the same 2019, buyers purchased 63 thousand RDX crossovers and 52 thousand MDX units.
