The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), which organizes the exhibition, has chosen Munich. In the race for the right to host the motor show, this city beat Hamburg and Berlin.
The official statement emphasizes that Munich represents an "attractive venue for events of this kind, having a developed transport network and experience in holding large-scale events." Specific dates for the future auto show in Munich have not yet been announced. It is expected that not only the location but also the format of the exhibition will undergo transformation: several city locations are planned to be used for showing new products.
VDA President Hildegard Müller noted that each of the three cities that made it to the final list proposed "very ambitious and thorough concepts for the development of the exhibition."
It should be noted that in recent years, interest in major automotive shows has noticeably weakened. Manufacturers are increasingly refusing to participate in large international salons, opting instead to hold their own presentations.
