This situation concerns vehicles such as Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Avalon and Corolla, as well as Lexus LS 500, LC 500, RC, GS, IS, ES, LX, GX, RX and NX models, produced in 2018-2019 and sold on the American market.
The reason for this measure was a fuel pump malfunction that could lead to its failure. This, in turn, can cause the engine to stall and create dangerous situations on the road. As part of the recall campaign, which will begin in March 2020, owners will be able to have their vehicles repaired free of charge. It remains unclear whether this issue affects cars sold outside the United States.
