In this position, he will replace Klaus Bischoff, who has now been entrusted with the overall design of the Volkswagen Group concern. Previously, these duties were performed by Michael Mauer, but now his area of responsibility will be narrowed to the exterior of Porsche models.
In the first days of October this year, Rolls-Royce chief designer Josef Kaban announced his departure from the company. He held this role for only six months. Kaban began his new duties at Rolls-Royce on April 1 of this year. Before him, this post was held by Giles Taylor, who left the brand in the summer of 2018. Today, he works for the Chinese corporation FAW.
Starting in February 2017, Josef Kaban was involved in the design of BMW cars. Previously, he devoted more than ten years to working at Volkswagen. The Slovak specialist is the author of the design of the Bugatti Veyron hypercar and the holder of numerous awards. Since 2006, he headed the design development department at Audi AG, where he oversaw the creation of both concept cars and production models.
From February 1, 2008, Kaban led the design department of the Czech Skoda. It was under his leadership that the appearance of the updated versions of the Citigo and Rapid was created.
