The enterprise's assembly line stood still for almost two weeks — the cause was low-quality components supplied for the electric power steering system.
The forced pause in operations affected approximately 20 thousand vehicles of the Forester, Impreza, and XV models. The company does not rule out that a recall service campaign will be announced soon.
The previous lengthy production halt at the Subaru plant occurred in 2011. At that time, vehicle production was stopped due to an earthquake in Japan.
