It is obvious that the French assembly line will see the production version of the Mercedes EQA concept (pictured), which debuted last autumn in Frankfurt. The compact show car with dimensions of 4285x1810x1428 mm was equipped with an electric motor producing 272 horsepower and could travel about 400 kilometers without recharging.

Mercedes will invest 500 million euros in the upgrade of the plant in France, which has been producing compact Smart models since 1997. The exact start dates for production of the new car have not yet been disclosed, however, according to preliminary data, the production Mercedes EQA will begin to be assembled in Hambach no earlier than 2020.
