The Nissan Leaf electric car in its second generation underwent testing using updated and stricter methodologies, including checks for cyclist recognition, detection of pedestrians in low-light conditions, and evaluation of lane-keeping assist systems.
During the crash tests, the Leaf scored 93% for adult occupant protection and 86% for child passenger safety. Thanks to these results, the model again received the maximum five stars, even though the testing program became more demanding than before.
