The first of the "four-door" models to be cut will be the Taurus (pictured) and Fiesta — their production will end in the spring of next year. By 2020, the Fusion sedan will also be discontinued.

The reason for this step was weak customer interest in cars with this type of body. According to the company's plans, only in-demand models with increased cross-country capability, including pickups, as well as the Focus hatchback and Mustang coupe, will remain on the American market.
