The joint venture MAN Auto-Uzbekistan plans to start producing Volkswagen Amarok pickups by 2019.
Representatives of Uzavtosanoat and Volkswagen AG concern, which includes MAN, signed an agreement to launch joint production.
Production of MAN trucks started in 2012 at an enterprise located in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan. The joint venture, formed by the state holding Uzavtosanoat and the German company MAN, produces tractor units, vans, dump trucks, and chassis for mounting special equipment; this year the plant also began producing buses.
