German authorities have banned the registration of new Porsche Cayenne crossovers with V6 diesel engines due to suspicions of manipulations with harmful emissions.
Germany's Minister of Transport Alexander Dobrindt reported that Porsche is suspected of installing special software that artificially lowered environmental performance indicators.
The next wave of "dieselgate" will lead to the manufacturer having to recall approximately 22 thousand diesel SUVs with three-liter Audi engines to update the firmware.
At the same time, Porsche categorically rejects any accusations of using illegal programs in their cars.
