The budget sedan Kia Rio failed to earn a single star from the Latin NCAP organization, which tests the safety of cars sold on the Latin American market.
Such a low score is explained by the fact that the initial version of the car does not provide either airbags or electronic assistants, including the anti-lock braking system. However, for the protection of children seated in the second row, the sedan was awarded one star.
Kia has already responded to the failed test results and promised to include a driver's airbag in the standard equipment of the Rio model.
