The diesel version of the Cayenne S, developing 385 horsepower, successfully towed an Airbus A380 airliner weighing 285 tons on a cable over a distance of 42 meters. After that, the more powerful Turbo S variant with an output of 570 horsepower repeated the same test.
Both vehicles rolled off the assembly line without any changes to the technical part — the only addition was special towing equipment.
Until this moment, the record was held by the Nissan Patrol, which in 2013 managed to move a 170-ton Il-76.
