Hyundai and KIA companies will have to conduct a large-scale recall campaign that will affect 1.47 million vehicles in the US, Canada, and South Korea markets.
The malfunction affected versions equipped with Theta II family gasoline engines of 2 and 2.4 liters. These power units may fail due to a faulty crankshaft.
Models such as Grandeur, Optima, Santa Fe, Sonata, Cadenza, Sorento, and Sportage will be sent to service centers.
It is worth noting that in mid-March, a recall campaign affected almost a million Hyundai Sonata sedans due to seat belt defects.
