A pensioner from North Wales, James Roberts, received a letter with a fine for speeding on an electric mobility scooter for disabled people.
The notification stated that he allegedly managed to reach a speed of 67 km/h, whereas such a means of transportation cannot go faster than 15 km/h. Moreover, on that day, the elderly man did not leave his home at all.
Of course, the fine was canceled, and James Roberts received an official apology. The cause of the incident was a system malfunction or, which looks more plausible, someone using fake license plates replicating the number of the electric scooter.
