In addition to new films, including world premieres, the Odessa International Film Festival (OIFF) also showcases the latest Renault models. Among them are the premium Espace, Megane, and the Kadjar crossover. The latter has become the official car of the film festival. Sales of the Renault Kadjar are scheduled to start in September 2016, but you can already watch the Kadjar test drive from AvtoPortal.

Undoubtedly, the most striking and suitable for such a grand event is the Renault crossover-minivan. Even on Odessa's less-than-perfect roads, this car provided foreign guests with the highest level of comfort thanks to its spacious, luxurious interior and "smart" suspension that smooths out the architectural quirks of Odessa's roads. Moreover, despite its impressive length, the new Espace offers excellent maneuverability on narrow streets – with a turning radius of just 11 meters. This is thanks to the rear-wheel steering and the 4Control® all-wheel steering chassis.

Special mention should be made of the new Renault Megane 2016, in which an AvtoPortal correspondent visited Odessa.

The new Megane differs radically from its predecessor in exterior design. Now it can rightfully be considered not only one of the most beautiful and striking cars in the golf class, but also the most highly equipped. After all, like the premium Espace, the hatchback can have a large touchscreen, the ability to change the interior lighting and choose the appearance of the instrument panel, as well as much more, which we will soon cover in a full test drive of the new Renault, sales of which in Ukraine will start in autumn 2016.

Speaking of cinema and Renault, these are not just similar-sounding words, but a story of long-standing partnership that dates back to 1895, when the Lumière brothers, Auguste and Louis, patented the first device "for recording and viewing chronophotographic images." Thus cinema was born. Just four years later, Louis Renault appeared in a film behind the wheel of his "voiturette" Type A. He was one of the first industrialists to realize the potential of the new genre for advertising their products.

The host of the opening and closing ceremonies was producer and actress Masha Efrosinina, and one of the main highlights of the opening ceremony of the 7th Odessa International Film Festival (July 15) was the performance of the Eurovision 2016 winner – Jamala. The singer presented her own version of the famous aria "Summertime" by American composer George Gershwin. The great composer wrote it for the opera "Porgy and Bess," basing it on the Ukrainian lullaby "Oi khodyt son kolo vikon," which he heard in New York performed by the Ukrainian National Choir! The opening film of the Odessa International Film Festival 2016 was the French director Xavier Giannoli's "Marguerite," which hits Ukrainian screens on July 28. It is worth noting that OIFF-2016 will run until July 23, so there is still a chance to visit this unforgettable event and take a closer look at the new Renault models on the colorful streets of Odessa.
