Last month, the number of old cars imported from abroad and registered in Ukraine for the first time remained at the August level. At the same time, compared to September of the previous year, this indicator grew by a third. This information is provided by Ukrautoprom.

As noted in the association, in September, as in August, more than 21 thousand passenger cars imported from other countries were transferred to Ukrainian license plates. In the structure of imported cars that already had mileage, the largest share is traditionally occupied by cars with gasoline engines — 44% (a month earlier this figure was 45%). In second place are diesel models — 31% (compared to 32% in August). Electric cars accounted for 16% (in August — 15%), cars with gas cylinder equipment — 5% (unchanged), and hybrid versions — 4% (in August — 3%).

The most popular car in this segment was again Volkswagen Golf, which was chosen by 1575 owners. The top five of the rating compared to the previous month did not change: Renault Megane (1299 cars), Skoda Octavia (923), Volkswagen Passat (755) and Nissan Leaf (590).

The top ten most sought-after models also included Audi A4 (414 units), Volkswagen Touran (406 units), Tesla Model 3 (405 units), Volkswagen Tiguan (401 units) and Nissan Qashqai (398 units).

The average age of cars that received Ukrainian registration in September reaches almost ten years.

In the first nine months of 2023, 148 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad were registered in Ukraine for the first time. This is 3.4 times more than the number of new cars sold over the same period.
