A positive sign of the beginning of autumn was the recovery of volumes on the domestic passenger car market to the levels observed before the full-scale invasion. For comparison: in January, the number of transactions on the domestic market amounted to 67 thousand, in February - 61.8 thousand. At the same time, in August, 64.3 thousand used cars were sold, and in September this figure increased to 68.4 thousand. Thus, September volumes even exceeded the January values of this year.
Despite this, the used car market still lags behind last year's indicators: in September, the decline was 15%, in August - 6%. In total, over the first nine months of 2022, 445.6 thousand car resale transactions were carried out in Ukraine, which is 28% less than in the same period last year.
At the same time, the volume of used car imports over nine months decreased by only 5.6% compared to last year. This was largely facilitated by the preferential customs clearance of cars, which was in effect in the first half of the year. These cars are already actively influencing the domestic resale market, accounting for almost 15% of transactions.
