At the same time, the cost of used cars will gradually go down. Trading such cars could become a source of income for a considerable number of Ukrainians who have lost their jobs due to hostilities.

This forecast for the near future of the car market was voiced by Maksym Oryshchak, an analyst at the Center for Exchange Technologies (CET).

According to experts, car prices will no longer jump as sharply as was observed immediately after the start of the full-scale war. However, the cost of cars may gradually decrease by 10–15%.

"Overall, car prices in Ukraine do not have strong fluctuations, but there is a decline within 10–15%. This is due to the fact that the purchasing power of the population does not allow demand for large equipment to grow," Oryshchak notes.

With the start of the war, the incomes of a significant part of citizens have decreased significantly. At the same time, people need to find ways to fill the family budget. That is why for many, importing used cars from abroad and their subsequent resale in Ukraine may become a profitable business. Such activity can create additional jobs in the labor market.

Another wave of new vacancies will appear in the field of car repair. After all, with an increase in the volume of sales of used cars, the need for their maintenance will also grow: to sell a car at a favorable price, it must first be brought to a proper technical and marketable condition.

"This is very good for service stations, because they will always have plenty of work. In addition, this is a great opportunity for those who are currently looking for ways to earn money during the war," the expert concluded.
