Yes, Tesla calculated that five years of ownership (and 60 thousand miles/95.6 thousand km of mileage) of the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus costs the same as a Toyota Camry – America's most popular sedan. Yes, buying the "three" itself is more expensive than the Camry (Tesla falls into the premium price category of the BMW 3-Series), but operating costs, which include, in particular, fuel or electricity, regular maintenance and new tires, in the case of an electric car, amount to just over half of the amount that a Toyota owner needs to spend.

A comparison of cars of the same age and with similar mileage showed that charging an electric car is cheaper than refueling a gasoline car. If you add depreciation and insurance here, it turns out that under the above operating conditions, owning a Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus will cost $0.55 per mile (9 UAH per km).
However, you should not take the relevance of these results as truth, and in general such a comparison looks conditional. Firstly, in 2021, Elon Musk's company raised prices for its cars, so the data will already differ at this stage. Secondly, the company did not specify which modification of the Camry is meant – gasoline or hybrid. Well, and most importantly – this information concerns the US market; in Ukraine, such a study would probably end with different conclusions.
