WhatCar experts surveyed car owners about breakdowns over the past year. Faults were divided into 14 different categories, and repair costs were also taken into account when compiling the rating. Based on this, the TOP-8 most reliable crossovers were determined.
8th place – Volvo XC60 (2008-2015) – reliability rating 87.5%

Owners mostly encountered minor issues – they needed to repair the air conditioner, battery, engine and its electrical systems, exhaust, gearbox, clutch, and suspension. Repairs usually cost up to 1000 pounds sterling.
7th place – Honda CR-V Diesel (2012-2015) – reliability rating 88.9%

The diesel crossover Honda CR-V is not very expensive to repair: the average bill is from 100 to 500 pounds. Most often, the battery had to be replaced, and problems with the body, brakes, engine, electronics, and transmission were also noted.
6th place – BMW X3 (2010-2015) – reliability rating 89.7%

Most often, the BMW X3 has suspension and engine failures, less often – brakes and electronics. The average repair bill is from 50 to 500 pounds sterling. In most cases, faults were fixed within a day.
5th place – Audi Q5 TDI (2008-2011) – reliability rating 89.8%

The main problems with the crossover are with brakes, fuel system, and electronics. Moreover, in 50% of cases, the faults were significant. On average, repairs cost 500-1000 pounds sterling.
4th place – Mazda CX-5 (2012-2015) – reliability rating 91.5%

As a rule, the battery, brakes, engine, and electronics required repair. Notably, in 40% of cases, repairs cost 200-300 pounds, and in another 40% - 1000 pounds or more.
3rd place – Toyota RAV4 (2006-2012) – reliability rating 95.7%

This car is the oldest in the TOP-8, but very reliable. Only the battery and suspension raised questions. Repair costs range from 100 to 1500 pounds sterling.
1-2 places – Honda CR-V petrol (2012-2015) and Toyota RAV4 (2013-2015) – reliability rating 100%

The Toyota and Honda crossovers showed absolute reliability – none of the surveyed owners reported breakdowns over the past year.
