In the first two months, the share of SUVs on the Ukrainian market amounted to 73.4%. To be more precise, in January it was 71.6%, and in February – 74.9%. In 2020, about 70% of all sold cars were crossovers or SUVs.

For comparison, 20 years ago, in 2001, only 8% of new cars belonged to the SUV segment, in 2011 – already 23.6%, and in 2017 - 52.7%. If you look at the graph, the demand for off-road capable models is steadily growing.

As is known, the market leaders in recent years are precisely the crossovers Toyota RAV4, Renault Duster and Kia Sportage. Also in demand are Hyundai Tucson and the body-on-frame Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

The reasons for such high popularity of SUVs in Ukraine have long been known – it is the condition of our roads, snowy winters, and the established status of such models. However, crossover sales are actively growing all over the world, so here Ukraine is keeping pace with global trends.
