Thus, the Volga Automobile Plant will become the full owner of the joint venture, and the Chevrolet Niva SUV will in the future be produced with the Lada emblem.
For a certain period of time, the Chevrolet Niva model will be sold under its current name, but then the car will receive Lada badges. In addition, the issue of renaming the company GM-AvtoVAZ will be considered in the future. Until the transition period is completed, all agreements with suppliers and dealerships will remain in force.
"I am grateful to our colleagues from GM for more than 18 years of fruitful joint work. In accordance with the agreements, AvtoVAZ will receive a second classic SUV in its model range. The Niva model will be a natural addition to the legendary 4x4 and will contribute to the further growth of AvtoVAZ," said AvtoVAZ President Yves Caracatzanis.
