The head of the Volkswagen Group concern, Matthias Müller, shared the company's plans. As the top manager reported, under the electrification program Roadmap E, by 2020 the number of plants producing electric vehicles will grow from three to twelve. Two years later, four additional enterprises are planned to be modernized.
By 2025, the brand's model range will include at least 80 electric cars. To achieve this goal, starting next year, the company intends to introduce one new electric model every month.
Müller also noted that abandoning traditional gasoline and diesel engines is not planned. On the contrary, 90 billion euros will be allocated for their improvement.
