Last month, 35 thousand new Volkswagen Golf units were sold on the European market, which is 28.1% less than in April 2016. Thanks to this, the Golf again took the first position in sales in the "Old World". In March 2017, the leadership of the German model was intercepted by the compact Ford Fiesta.
The second place in the ranking of the most popular cars among Europeans went to the Renault Clio — in April, 26 thousand such cars were sold (-7.1%). The top three leaders at the end of April 2017 is closed by the Volkswagen Polo hatchback (24.8 thousand units, -11.4%).
In addition, the top ten for April included: Volkswagen Tiguan — 19.9 thousand units (+71.6%), Peugeot 208 — 19.3 thousand units (-15.7%), Opel/Vauxhall Astra — 18.4 thousand units (-8.3%), Opel/Vauxhall Corsa — 18.1 thousand units (-14.2%), Ford Fiesta — 17.9 thousand units (-20.4%), Citroen C3 — 17.5 thousand units (+48.1%) and Skoda Octavia — 17.3 thousand units (-15.4%).
