The Pv444 prototype was created back in 1944, but launching it into mass production at that time was not possible. This model became the first for the brand with a monocoque all-steel body.
Initially, the car was offered only as a sedan, and in 1955 the first station wagon based on it appeared.
The reliable and affordable car enjoyed steady demand and was produced until 1958. After the update, it was given the index Pv544. In total, over 18 years of production, more than 440,000 such cars were assembled.
