The Autobild magazine reports that based on the results of the tests, TUV experts concluded that the problem is not as serious as it was presented. Specialists claim that even with the gas pedal fully pressed, the driver is able to press the brake and stop the car. All Toyota models that were recalled in Germany were tested — iQ, Aygo, Yaris, Auris, Verso, Avensis, and RAV4. The total number of such cars in the country is 215,796 units.
So, it turns out that the panic and warnings of high-ranking American officials were in vain? Or were those who suspected a conspiracy against Toyota right? But there are also questions for TUV itself — in this organization, as in ours, corruption schemes are not excluded. So who should we ultimately trust?
