Mercedes-Benz first introduced the R-Class minivan in 2009. The model is based on the W251 platform and is available with short and long wheelbases. Versions for five, six, and seven seats are offered. In 2011, the car underwent a facelift, while the technical part remained unchanged.
Under the hood, the R-Class is equipped only with gasoline engines ranging from 3.0 to 6.2 liters, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Drive is rear-wheel or all-wheel.
