The E-Class model, whose name first appeared on Mercedes-Benz cars back in the 1930s, was revived in 1993. To date, it is produced in the fourth generation and is offered in four body types: coupe, convertible, sedan, and station wagon.
The range of powertrains includes five petrol engines with a displacement from 1.8 to 6.2 liters and two diesel engines with a displacement of 2.1 and 3.0 liters. They are paired with three types of transmissions: a six-speed manual, as well as a five- or seven-speed automatic. Drive can be rear or all-wheel.
