Ford Ranger is a light pickup truck whose name translates as "forester", "wanderer" or "ranger" (Texas police officer).
The first generation of the model was released in 1982. By the early 1990s, the pickup became so popular in the US that every fourth pickup sold in the country was a Ford Ranger. The car remains popular in America, and since 2011 it has been officially sold in Europe. Structurally, the Ranger shares a platform with the Mazda BT-50.
The fifth generation of the model was introduced in 2011 at the commercial vehicle show in Birmingham. Its development took into account the tastes of European buyers. Official sales in Ukraine started in 2014.
The current Ford Ranger on the Ukrainian market is equipped with a 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 150 hp and a gasoline engine with 166 hp. The transmission is 6-speed, and the drive is all-wheel drive.
