Initially, the compact crossover Ford EcoSport was created only for the markets of Latin America. It was assembled exclusively in Brazil. However, with the launch of the second generation, first shown at the auto show in New Delhi (India), production will also be established in this country.
The second generation EcoSport is based on the platform from the Fiesta model. Under the hood is a three-cylinder engine of the EcoBoost series, created by British engineers. The unit works in conjunction with a five-speed manual transmission. By default, the car has front-wheel drive, and for an additional fee, a plug-in all-wheel drive system is available.
