Ford Fusion USA: prices and specifications

1 generations Country of origin: United States

Ford Fusion USA is a mid-size sedan produced by Ford Motor Company for Canada, the United States, and some South American countries.

The first Fusion cars rolled off the assembly line in August 2005. In Latin American countries, the Fusion replaced the Mondeo. An exception was Argentina (where the European Ford Mondeo is sold). In the United States and Canada, it replaced the Ford Contour (the North American market version of the Mondeo) and partially the Ford Taurus. At that time, the Contour was not particularly popular, and the Taurus was temporarily discontinued.

In terms of its parameters, the Fusion is similar to the European Mondeo and is partially unified with it. It uses technically related Duratec engines and a number of interior parts, including seats and parts of the front console. Nevertheless, the car can be confidently called an individual development for a specific market, taking into account consumer requirements and preferences.

In March 2009, the Ford Fusion underwent a facelift. The updates affected the front and rear lights, hood, and bumpers. The engine lineup was changed. A hybrid version of the car appeared.

In 2012, a completely new generation of the Ford Fusion was introduced. The new car received a unified platform with the Mondeo, EUCD (CD4). The new model resembles the European Ford Evos concept car, which was presented to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011. At the 2012 North American International Auto Show, the new Ford Fusion was introduced as a 2013 model.
The car has a lineup of three gasoline engines (1.6 L EcoBoost I4 178 hp, 2.0 L EcoBoost I4 240 hp, 2.5 L Duratec I4 175 hp) and a hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain with a total output of 188 hp. In Ukraine, Ford Fusion USA has been sold by independent dealers since 2006.
