And we will start with interesting places in the Chernihiv region, which seems to be not far from Kyiv, but is very rich in historical and natural attractions. We will also tell you about little-known places that are easy to reach and where the whole family will find it interesting and comfortable. Note that in this case, the distance to some locations allows you to get there even by electric car, without recharging along the way.

Brech - no worse than abroad

It's good not where we are not, but where we have not been yet. And although there is an opinion that the best vacation can only be abroad, in fact this is not always the case.

Speaking about the Chernihiv region, there is a unique complex here where you can come for a few days (or even longer) or just for an excursion. Moreover, it is quite possible to get here by a modern electric car with a range of over 250 km. That's how far it is to the village of Brech in the Chernihiv region, where the eponymous country hotel and restaurant ECO complex Brech is located.

You can (and should) come here by any car (including electric - there are charging stations) to spend at least half a day on photo sessions and relaxation away from the city bustle. Besides the fact that Brech is in the TOP-10 European breeders of the Hanoverian horse breed, there is an incomparable location for recreation and accommodation. If you don't stay overnight, you can walk around the large territory (56 hectares) for a moderate fee and visit completely different corners of the world. But perhaps the most photogenic are the Asian houses and the Versailles Palace with fountains and colonnade.

For those who want to stay longer, there is a giant SPA complex, various types of accommodation and, of course, plenty of entertainment for children and adults. The same applies to the entertainment center located here and three restaurants. In general, during lockdown and restrictions, it is hard to find a place in Ukraine where you can really feel like you are abroad. And not just one country.

Baturyn

80 kilometers from Brech there is the glorious town of Baturyn. In the 15th-17th centuries, Baturyn was the residence of the hetmans of Left-Bank Ukraine, so for lovers of ancient buildings, this is the best Mecca in the Chernihiv region. Here there are several locations that again will make you feel like you are somewhere abroad. For example, in Italy.

One of such places is the Razumovsky Palace - it very much resembles buildings in Rome. And this is not surprising, because the architect was Charles Cameron, who lived and worked in Italy for a long period of time. But this is only part of Baturyn's attractions - it really makes sense to come here by car to drive around the local streets and ancient buildings of different times and periods.

Museum-Reserve "The Tale of Igor's Campaign"

It is located in Novhorod-Siverskyi, one of the northernmost cities of Ukraine. This is approximately 170 km from Chernihiv. The reserve includes a complex of historical attractions of Sivershchyna. Among the exhibits are women's jewelry and military armor of the Kyivan Rus era, a collection of ancient coins, and schematic maps reflecting the battle of Igor Svyatoslavovich's troops with the Polovtsians. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum hosts thematic exhibitions and creative evenings.

Nature Park "Beremytske"

Excursions in the Nature Park "Beremytske" are a unique opportunity to see the nature of Polesia, recreated in the form in which our ancestors saw it.

This little-known park supports the ideas of the Rewilding Europe foundation regarding the need to restore native ecosystems of Europe. In the ideology of rewilding, natural grazing is used as the main tool for increasing biodiversity and recreating trophic chains.

Note that the nature protection object in the south of the Chernihiv region is located on the left bank of the Desna River. It was opened quite recently, on October 13, 2017. Therefore, few people know about it, but there is clearly something to see here.

Mena Zoo

Unlike the "Beremytske" Park, this zoo dates back to the 70s of the last century. Despite the fact that it is almost 50 years old, even now only those who know where to go or purely by geolocation can get to it.

It is not clear why, but the zoo built back in the USSR can be considered little-known. Moreover, on the way to it there are no (!) signs or signboards at all. But it also makes sense to come here - there is a very "homey" atmosphere, the spirit of the past is in the air, and the number of people is clearly less than the number of animals. Fortunately, when there is internet and maps - it is enough to type the name in your smartphone and choose a route.

Road trips in Ukraine

A car allows you to get away from the city and at least for a while forget about vaccines, politics and "red zones". Therefore, AvtoPortal will continue to cover interesting and little-known places in different corners of Ukraine to make it easier for you to choose a route and location for rest and travel.
