For Ukrainian journalists, the new GNL brand organized an experiment in the style of "MythBusters".

The Ukrainian manufacturer positions its products as premium. This might seem like mere PR, if not for laboratory research...

Company representatives, together with media representatives, bought four samples of oils from leading global brands in one of the capital's megamarkets and conducted comparative tests.

GNL did not have the task of proving that the new product meets norms and standards. The main point is to clearly demonstrate that practically all modern oils are essentially the same.

At the QI Lubricants Scientific and Technical Center, together with our colleagues from other Ukrainian automotive publications, a series of anonymous laboratory tests were conducted to determine the quality level of motor oils of SAE 5W-40 class, both domestic and foreign production. Three foreign-made motor oils were chosen as the basis for comparison for the new Ukrainian product GNL Premium Synthetic 5W-40.

The samples were transferred to the laboratory in identical containers without brand markings. The cans were numbered (1, 2, 3, 4). The testing was carried out under the supervision of journalists using the main methods that most accurately identify motor oil of class 5W-40 according to API SN/CF and ACEA A3/B4 API classifications - viscosity at temperatures of 100 and 40 °C, viscosity index, density, freezing point, and a test for lubricating properties.

As the test results of the oils showed, they all meet the norms and requirements, and most importantly, they practically do not differ from each other.

In the near future, we will post on our video channel a program about how the oil tests were conducted and tell our readers about the main secrets of the global oil industry.
