Ford has added a new feature to the Mustang's options list that significantly reduces the noise of the started engine.
The new function is called Good Neighbor Mode. It is available for Mustangs with a five-liter V8 engine. When this mode is activated, the noise level when starting the power unit drops from 80 to 72 decibels.
Car owners can either turn this option on manually when needed, or set it to activate automatically within a specified time interval — for example, in the morning hours or late in the evening.
