The key distinguishing feature of this development is the absence of a blinding effect for drivers moving towards you. Similar options have been encountered before, but in those cases, as a rule, it was about the automation turning off the low beam or adjusting the direction of the beam when oncoming traffic appeared. Here, thanks to miniature shutters moving inside the headlight housing, the high beam remains constantly on and shines at full power. At the same time, the oncoming car ends up in a darkened zone.
The electronic control unit independently tracks the car and moves the shutter so that the oncoming vehicle constantly remains in the shadow. Moreover, according to the engineers, the system is capable of simultaneously tracking several cars, which allows the driver to safely drive on a country highway with the high beam on, and this, in turn, should have a positive effect on traffic safety.
