And so, two years later, the "Blue Oval" has again brought a new Mondeo to Paris, but now it is truly ready for the start of sales.

The new-generation Ford Mondeo is intended to compete with the VW Passat B8, which also debuted in Paris. The new Mondeo will get 1.5- and 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engines, as well as 1.6- and 2.0-liter diesel units. Next year, the engine lineup will be supplemented with a very economical 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost.

The Passat family has a hybrid version GTE, and to compete with it, Ford will offer its own Mondeo modification, which has a 2.0-liter petrol unit, an electric motor, and a 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery.

The new sedan will be presented on the European market with sedan (four- and five-door) and wagon body styles. The latter will optionally get a panoramic roof. Inside, the new model will feature the new SYNC 2 infotainment system with an 8-inch display.
It is also worth noting the adaptive LED headlights, parking assistance system, as well as a number of modern safety technologies. Sales will begin at the end of this year.
