A 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Edition Roadster, refined by McLaren Special Operations, has been put up for auction in London. This is the first car of the McLaren Edition program and one of only four such roadsters. The estimated price reaches about $1 million. This is reported by RM Sotheby's.
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Edition became the first MSO project

Initially, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren had a silver body, but in 2009 it was handed over to MSO for modernization in the style of the 722 S. The car received an aerodynamic package, different wheels, optics, and a reworked interior.
In 2010, the roadster returned to MSO for deeper refinement. The body was repainted in Midas Fire Grey, new bumpers, side panels, a Stirling Moss-style diffuser, and a modified trunk lid were installed. The weight decreased by 50 kg, and downforce increased by 20%.
The interior was trimmed in red leather and black Alcantara, and a carbon steering wheel was installed. The car received a plaque with number 001. In total, MSO created 25 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Editions, with only four of them being roadsters.
The rare Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was valued at almost $1 million

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is equipped with a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 producing 617 hp, a five-speed AMG Speedshift R automatic, and rear-wheel drive. Acceleration to 97 km/h takes 3.8 seconds, and the top speed is 333 km/h.
The mileage of example No. 001 at the time of cataloging was only 5,115 km. In 2023, the car underwent major maintenance in Germany, and the last service was performed at Mercedes-Benz in Belfast in June 2026.
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Edition Roadster will be sold on October 31. The auction house estimates the car at approximately 870,000-1 million.
