Skoda has brought the fourth-generation Octavia liftback to final testing. Spy photographers managed to capture the car during tests on Czech roads. Photos showing the car without camouflage were published by Auto.cz.

Judging by the photos, the design of the new Octavia will feature traits of the Vision RS concept car, which debuted at the Paris Motor Show. The next-generation car will get a new grille and different front and rear lighting. The overall dimensions of the car will not differ much from its predecessor.

As for the car's interior, it will resemble the Scala hatchback. Previously published spy photos show a digital instrument panel and a large infotainment system display. Compared to the predecessor, there will be significantly fewer conventional buttons on the center console.

The car's technical specifications are still kept secret. In Russia, the current Skoda Octavia is offered with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 110 hp, as well as turbocharged units with a displacement of 1.4 and 1.8 liters, developing 150 and 180 hp, respectively.

Skoda will present the fourth-generation Octavia before the end of this year. It is in 2019 that this model will celebrate its 60th anniversary. The first Octavia was produced in 1959 at the plant in Mlada Boleslav. Possibly, the car will be shown to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opens in September. However, there is no official confirmation of this information yet.

In total, Skoda plans to present over 30 new models by the end of 2022. Of these, ten will have a hybrid or fully electric powertrain.
