The premiere of the crossover named Austral is scheduled for the first half of 2022. And, judging by the published teaser image, the car will feature the brand's new logo and lights in the style of the Megane E-Tech.
The word Austral comes from the Latin australis — "southern." The length of the SUV will be 4.51 meters, and its interior will be five-seat. Other details about the new model are not reported.
European sales of the crossover will start in spring 2022. Whether the model will be supplied to Ukraine is not yet known. But more likely yes than no.
"Austral evokes the brightness and warmth of the southern hemisphere. This name invites adventure and is perfect for an SUV," explained Renault Group's car naming strategy manager Silvia Dos Santos. Also, customers will be offered hybrid modifications of the crossover. The new model can be purchased with front or all-wheel drive.
