The German company VanEssa has presented a prototype camper van based on the Mercedes Citan. Serial production of kits for converting the minivan into a camper is planned for 2022.
Inside the Mercedes Citan, a folding double bed measuring 115 by 189 cm is provided. When not needed, it is stored in the luggage compartment.
Also in the trunk is a kitchen module. In the pull-out sections there is a gas burner, a compact refrigerator, a sink with a 13-liter water tank, and a set of dishes.
The weight of such a module is only 60 kg, and it can be removed from the trunk in a few minutes. Thanks to this, the camper easily turns back into a regular minivan Mercedes Citan 2022.
