Judging by the first images, the design of the Volkswagen Amarok will become much brighter and more expressive. It has a high hood, a massive front bumper, pronounced wheel arches and thin LED headlights.
It has already been confirmed that the new Volkswagen Amarok 2022 will be related to the next-generation Ford Ranger. The frame platform will be borrowed from the American counterpart. By the way, in return, the Volkswagen concern will share the MEB architecture with Ford for a new compact electric crossover.
Production of the Volkswagen Amarok and Ford Ranger will be established at an upgraded plant in South Africa. It is known that the Volkswagen pickup will still be equipped with 2.0 and 3.0 liter turbodiesels.
Also being considered is the possibility of creating a hot Volkswagen Amarok R – an analogue of the Ford Ranger Raptor. Such a pickup will be prepared for heavy off-road, and the power of its turbodiesel will be at least 300 hp.
