Production of the new Volkswagen Taos for the US has been launched at the brand's Mexican plant – the same facility produces the well-known in our region Jettas and Passats. Not long ago, the plant in Puebla mastered production of the new model for the local market (Mexico), and a bit later they will start assembling Taoses for Canada as well.
Volkswagen Taos will arrive at US dealerships at the end of the second quarter of 2021.
By the way, about the car itself: this crossover is a sibling of Skoda Karoq – they differ from each other only in the design of the front and rear, and in the model hierarchy it sits one step below Tiguan. Only one engine is announced for the car – a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder TSI with 158 horsepower. The engine works in pair with a 7-speed DSG with dual clutch. The price of the model has not been announced yet, but American media suggest that it will be around 25,000 dollars.
