Even without special preparation, it is clear that Songsam Motors SS Dolphin is an exact copy of the famous Chevrolet Corvette from 1958–1960. The exterior completely replicates the original, although the body geometry differs somewhat from the original.
In addition, the Chinese replica turned out to be slightly larger — 4.8 meters in length and 1.85 meters in width. Buyers have access to two modifications: coupe and convertible.
The interior, however, is made to modern standards: a digital instrument panel, a large touchscreen display, leather and aluminum trim. Standard equipment includes ESP, climate control, and an electric parking brake.
Under the hood, however, there is no big V8 — here a hybrid powertrain is installed. The total output of the gasoline 1.5-liter turbo-four and the electric motor is 315 horsepower — exactly the same as the engine of the 1959 Chevrolet Corvette produced. The Chinese sports car reaches 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, and in pure electric mode it can travel 100 kilometers.
