The Changan Ben Ben E-Star has been produced since 2014, and previously its price started from $6,300. Now the model range has been expanded with a more affordable version.
To make the car cheaper, the manufacturer abandoned the digital instrument panel, LED headlights, air conditioning, and the 10.25-inch touchscreen display. Standard equipment includes central locking, power windows, and an anti-lock braking system.
The dimensions of the Chinese electric car are 3730 mm in length, 1650 mm in width, and 1530 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2410 mm. The trunk volume is 147 liters.
Additionally, to reduce the cost, the Changan Ben Ben E-Star received a less powerful electric motor with 41 horsepower and a more affordable lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 23.8 kWh. The maximum speed is limited to 101 km/h, and the range is 150 km according to the NEDC cycle.
For comparison: the more expensive modification is equipped with a 75-horsepower motor and a 32 kWh battery. In this version, the maximum speed reaches 125 km/h, and the range is 300 km.
