The new Mazda CX-5 should appear in 2023. According to BestCarWeb, the model will be built on a completely new rear-wheel drive platform with a longitudinal engine layout. The new generation Mazda 6 sedan will also be created on this architecture.
Inline six-cylinder Skyactiv engines are also expected – both petrol and diesel. There are also plans for a hybrid Mazda CX-5 crossover.
The above changes will allow the Mazda CX-5 to move into the premium segment. The Audi Q5 and BMW X3 are named as competitors for the future model.
