The new four-cylinder engine, belonging to the Skyactiv-G line, develops 111 horsepower and torque of 144 Nm. The same power unit is installed on models such as the Mazda 2, Mazda 3, and the sports roadster MX-5. For the Japanese market, the Mazda CX-3 is also offered with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine producing 150 horsepower, and a 1.8-liter diesel with an output of 116 hp.

According to the manufacturer's data, the average fuel consumption of the crossover with front-wheel drive and the new engine is 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers. The all-wheel drive version consumes an average of 6.36 liters over the same distance.

Other trim levels of the Mazda CX-3 have also undergone a number of updates: the seats were improved, and the multimedia system received support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, a new dark gray shade, Polymetal Grey, was added to the body color palette.

The company also noted that the special version CX-3 100th Anniversary will be offered exclusively with this new engine, which, among other things, allowed reducing the model's starting price by a quarter — to 1,892,000 yen (approximately $17,500).
