John Kett, head of Hyundai's Australian office, shared details about the upcoming pickup in an interview with Which Car.
As the company representative stated, the initial design stage of the model, which will be built on a ladder frame, is currently being completed. The lineup will include both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Additionally, the possibility of releasing several modifications with different cab types is being considered.
Kett also reported that Kia will take on part of the project's funding. This confirms earlier information that both Korean companies are working on a common vehicle, which will then be sold under two different brands.
It is expected that mass production of the pickup will start in 2020. The new model is anticipated to compete with models such as the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger.
