As Automotive News reports, citing a representative of the Japanese manufacturer, sales of the new model are scheduled to start next year.
The electric car has already been caught by spy photographers during road tests more than once. However, the photos only showed a test mule intended for testing the powertrain of the future model. The company emphasizes that this will be a fully independent development, not an electric version of any existing car. According to preliminary data, the car will get an electric motor with 141 horsepower and a battery with a capacity of 35 kilowatt-hours.
According to unofficial information, the development of electrical components and systems is carried out jointly with Denso. It is expected that customers will be offered two versions - a base one and a variant with an increased range.
