The new Hyundai Kona Hybrid features a powertrain consisting of a 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 106 horsepower and a compact electric motor with 43 hp. The combined output of the units reaches 141 hp, with peak torque of 264 Nm. Power is transmitted via a six-speed robotic gearbox with dual clutches.

The compact traction battery with a capacity of 1.56 kWh replenishes energy during braking or coasting. The crossover accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 160 km/h.

The main visual difference of the hybrid version from other Kona modifications is the instrument panel with an extended display that also shows the operating parameters of the hybrid powertrain. The list of available equipment includes a multimedia system with a 10.3-inch touchscreen and a wireless charging station for mobile devices.
The Hyundai Kona Hybrid will appear at European dealerships in August. Information about the price of the new model is still kept secret.
